Civics in Chaos: An infuriatingly fun game of civic survival

Created by BLAMO Corps

We're sorry! The game has sold out!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Today in the New York Times

Things are heating up!

Something caught our eye in the New York Times today.

The leak of the questions that Mueller might want to ask Trump was fodder for a ton of articles today. One of them had an interesting illustration...

This looked familiar to us. It looks a lot like one of our Politico Hero cards.

Coincidence? You be the judge. The article is very worth reading.

This lets us know that our game is relevant and continues to parallel what is happening right before our eyes.

It's coming soon! Thanks for backing us, and thanks for your patience!

Another update about production is coming very soon.

We've finished the game design!

Wow, It's already April.

The last part of the game design was difficult. We took a bit of a meandering path, as things didn't feel finished and we kept pushing. It feels right now and we'll be getting the game into physical production asap. We'll post an update with dates as soon as we have them. We'll continue to share the visual design of the game along the way.

We're late. We're sorry about that. Thanks for your patience, and thanks for backing this project!

We think you'll enjoy it. We have a nice little game in the model of the popular euro-style, designer games. Our game remains pretty simple to learn and play. It's no more complicated than Monopoly. But like euro-games, it has built in timers, so it doesn't take forever to finish.

And the final design has more of Ed's illustrations, which was the reason we started on this journey!

Thanks again!

It's Presidents Day...

Hey backers!

We're overdue for an update and we couldn't let this day go by without one.

We're close on the last piece and that means we are almost done!

Here is a preview of what to expect.

There are three parts to the game:

1. Pass a bill into law by playing politics cards. Win and you get a tile.

2. Flip the tile over and you have a person, place, or thing that is part of the "Russia thing."

3. Connect enough of those tiles and you win. You win by completing all 10 steps in Article 2, Section 4 of... THE CONSTITUTION!

Is it a hoax? Is it reality? You be the judge.

We hope it's fun. It's easier to learn than Monopoly, and has fewer moving parts-- on par with Mille Bornes.

Thanks for your support!

One Year Ago...
about 6 years ago – Sat, Jan 20, 2018 at 04:28:27 PM

One year ago we witnessed an inauguration unlike any before it. The day after, we saw something even more incredible... a bazillion pink cat-hats!

That go-get-'em spirit inspired us. So 9 months ago we started to make this game. Because of you, it is becoming a reality. We hope you'll enjoy playing it as much as we have enjoyed making it. We also hope you'll play it while wearing your pink hats (we know you've got 'em...).

As you know, the game is more like 3 games. Game one finds you trying to pass a bill into law. You'll feel like a rookie congressperson in a world of chaos! Game two has you joining the Intelligence Committee. You learn information that helps you uncover links between key figures in the administration and... ahem... THE RUSSIANS.

We are super excited about this part of the game. Here is a peak at one of the "collusion chains." Remember George Papadopolous? This is what he looks like in our game.

Poor George... We wonder if he knew what he was getting into.

We're not making any of this up-- believe us. It's all ripped straight out of the fake news. Game two consists of 35 game tiles and builds on top of Game one.

That's all for now. We'll save game three for an update next week. Hint... It's all about the I-word.

Happy Marching!

New Year, New You (with a sweet game)
over 6 years ago – Mon, Jan 08, 2018 at 08:55:46 PM

In the most exciting news of the year, we're ON the news! King 5 Evening came and hung out with us back in December to film a segment on the game and the personalities behind it. If you're in the Seattle area, tune your TV to King 5 at 7:30pm tonight to watch us playing a few rounds with Michael King! For those not in Western Washington, we'll be sure to post a link to the video so you can share in the excitement.

We hope those who completed their surveys early enjoyed TRUMPING your friends and family with cards and magnets over the holidays, and look forward to TRUMPING them again with the full game!

As always, thank you for your support! Be sure to keep your eyes glued to our updates as we get closer to unleashing the chaos in your homes!
